Marin County
Marin County is located in Northern California, just across the Golden Gate Bridge, with San Francisco to the south, Sonoma County to the north, and Napa County to the north/ east. Highway 101, the main north/south artery, allows access to San Francisco and Sonoma Counties. Highway 1 takes you to the communities of West Marin/Point Reyes Seashore and the scenic Marin coast.
Marin enjoys a temperate, Mediterranean climate year round. Winters are moderate with temperatures averaging 55 degrees, with occasional rain. Summers are warm and dry, with the strong possibility of morning and evening fog, especially in the Golden Gate area. The average summer temperature is 82 degrees. A light coat or jacket is recommended for summer evenings. From Sausalito in the south to Novato in the north, Marin County is home to a unique array of communities and neighborhoods, all of which have something to offer for families.
